Dave's Musical Tastes and Favorite Artists

Since this is site has somewhat stagnated in developing more information from the family, I've decided to list some of my favorite artists and just go nuts from there.  I have a somewhat eclectic collection of CD's, Tapes, Records, and yes... I'll admit... 8-track tapes!

COUNTRY  - The voice of America  (MY opinion!)

Chris LeDoux - We are talking about the consummate in "cowboy-country" here. With a stage show that is second to none, Chris's concerts are about as fun of a show that you can go to see.    Mr. LeDoux, the 1976 Bareback Bronc World Champion, and country music legend, has sold over 5 million copies of his 36 albums...  He's worth listening to! (Chris LeDoux is my PERSONAL favorite artist, bar none!)

It is with sadness that I update this.  Mr. Chris LeDoux has passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2005.  To his wife and his children, Ya'll have the deepest sympathies from our family to yours.   I had an opportunity to meet Mr. LeDoux at a concert in St. Charles, Mo a few years back.  There are no words to describe the memory.   CHRIS:  You'll be missed by millions.  Some will miss you millions.  I thank you for your music. It has touched me deeply.

Trace Adkins -  Another "Real" country man...  Trace is a mountain of a man at 6'6", he's no different in stature than in country music. Trace's story can be best told by his biography on his webpage!

Alan Jackson - If you haven't heard of Alan Jackson, you've been sleeping for the last 10 years!  He's a Georgia born man that knows how to keep it real.  His song, 'Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)' about the events of "9-11" were words that I found myself singing aloud as he sang it for the very first time at the CMA's.  It was a song that was on ALL of our hearts.

Gary Allen - Wow... California?!?!?!  Gary sings with a passion that can only be called "stirring".  Only way to describe his music is to tell you to go buy one of his albums and just LISTEN!

Alison Krauss - *SIGH*...  Country? More bluegrass, but that's as country as it can get!  Alison's accomplishments are immense. Again, go buy one of her albums and be amazed!  Her band is well versed, as well...  Dan Tyminski deserves special note for his accomplishments in the song, "Man of Constant Sorrows", from the 'O' Brother Where Art Thou'  Soundtrack that made everyone think George Clooney should be a country star...  Nope... That was Mr. Tyminski!

Montgomery Gentry - WOW...  You have GOT to see one of their shows!!!!   They have endeared me as a fan-for-life with their tribute to my brothers in arms, veterans, and the POW/MIA cause.  Absolutely astonishing.   Thus far, the ONLY concert that brought me to tears with pride in America!!!  If you don't come away moved by the patriotism, then you need to get out of the country!

Like I said, I like ALL music...  from the hardest heavy metal, to classical, jazz, blues, R&B...  I like it all!!!!

Rock?  .38 Special, Night Ranger, Seger, or try Phil Collins with or without Genesis!  AWESOME!  (I wish he'd release more!)  I'm more of an older rock fan, but there are some newer groups that I like as well...  3 doors down, Creed, Velvet Revolver, among others.

Metal?  Well, It's hard to pick a front-runner, but I have a couple bands that I'm partial to...  Sediment House and Full System Purge.  They are both St. Louis local bands, and if they don't get signed to a major label soon, the world will be missing on some intense music that has some definite appeal!   I'm an "old-school" kind of guy here, too...  Go back to the days of Motley Crue, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, and classic Metallica.  Now THAT is metal!

For Blues type... I'm a John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Howlin' Wolf (Chester Burnett), Muddy Waters ( McKinley "Mississippi" Morganfield) fan.  Yeah... They get my toes tappin'... EASY!

I'll add more links when I get a bit more time...  This is a "one-page-a-day" website for now!

ALL LINKS HERE ARE USED AS REFERENCE ONLY!!!

IF ANY PERSON OR PERSONS REPRESENTING THESE MUSICAL ARTISTS HAVE ISSUE WITH THEIR BEING LISTED ON MY WEBSITE, PLEASE NOTIFY THE OWNER OF THIS URL.  THEY WILL BE REMOVED PROMPTLY AND WITHOUT QUESTION.  ALL LISTINGS ARE COPYRIGHTED BY THEIR LEGAL OWNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If that doesn't make the lawyers happy, I don't know what will!
